October 23, 2018 - Mission week 68: The Highs and Lows of this Job

So this week was awesome but also totally sucked.

let me explain.

So after all kinds of errend fun on Monday, we had Tuesday, a day so good I literally wrote "good day" on my huge calender, had some huge progression with some of our investigators. Khumo, who had finally come to church the day before said that she'd come because of a crazy dream vision that confirmed the Truth of the Church to her, making her certain of baptism on the 28th, then we went to Kenelwe, had a way good talk about baptism and put her on date, then we met with Boitumelo, the sister of a recent convert, who is insanely golden and will also get baptized on the 28th, since we've been seeing her most every day and it's all 'clicking' and she really wants it. then we went to see an investigator we had 'given a break' and she asked us how to go about leaving her old church, since she'd finally got her answers to the whole Priesthood thing. So Tuesday was pretty much the greatest day of my whole life. Really felt I was being led by the spirit and actually doing what God wanted me to.

Then Wednesday, we had interviews with President Chadambuka over in Gaborone, which took most of the day, but is always a good time.

Then Thursday, was exchanges with the 5 week old Elder Fawcett, things were very good, except Khumo wanted to now push back baptism because the father of half her kids is giving her greif, but he doesn't even live with them or give any sort of support, so I dunno, but now shes delaying and whatnot, then Idoh, a long time investigator who is finally being baptized keeps having problems with getting interviewed due to scheduling issues, so we are gonna have to push her baptism back as well.

So basically the 5 people that were gonna get baptized on the 28 who seemed solid, 4 fell through, Khumo and her two kids and Idoh, but Boitumelo is still good. We had a goal of 5 baptisms this transfer and we were so happy that that was gonna happen, but nope. Its all good though, they will happen next transfer for sure, but its always nice to hit your goals.

Sunday we had some fun with the high guy who joined us in gospel principles. its always a good lesson when they bring up tupac and Biggy Smalls.

Monday we got our Bakkie serviced, and had zone activity soccer fun times. My arms got roasted, but my face and neck are fine. Also played a ton of uno and ate a monstrosity of a mac and cheese casserole. emailing is happening today because email shops closing. so yeah. a very dense week.

hard work always pays off. Elder Wilson and I have done our best this transfer and we have truly seen the results of that (even if they aren't as picturesque as we wanted.)

then the water went out today

but yeah, some nice quotes and whatnot
  • "stop eating all our bread Elder Motelang" - Elder Ludloff    "but I already Applied 4" - Elder Motelang
  • "stop scratching yourself" -Elder Wilson  "but i gotta get all the meat of my pants" - Elder Me.
  • Donkey Handcuffs
  • Elders are serving in Kanye West (a true fact)
  • "I am a small boy" - our member present Biko
so yeah
